Back in Phuntsholing, Seldon was given one week to get the details. She was informed that Nima was traveling to Mongar for the reason. Lhajin had no idea of those things and even if she knew, it would not bother her much, after all, she was just a child.
To his relief, Nima saw two nuns coming out of the Nunnery centre. One was carrying a suitcase. Approaching nearer, it was Neten and her friend. He could clearly remember her face, Lhajin had got her face too. She looked beautiful and clean in her maroon dress, it suited her the best. After her huge mistake first time in her life, she made her mind to clean herself up by being a Buddhist practitioner and she did. Nima could not believe that for a moment- a young lady who disposed her baby in 2006, had taken a marvelous path. For an unknown reason- which astonished Nima for most of the time- it’s not difficult to meet Neten, he just had to begin the search and there she was. They greeted extensively but Nima looked happier than Neten. The next moment Neten felt fortunate when she found herself getting into a dark-blue Santro car which had just completed its U-turn in a wide area nearby. She waved her friend happily.
Spending a night in Bumthang, they headed to Thimphu immediately. Bumthang has started to glow up its summer beauty. Willow trees were sprouting it’s green buds, grasses were fresh and soft, peach trees were mildly pink while apple trees were dancing in white. Chamkar Chhu was the most beautiful landmark in its meandering silence.
Neten’s Parents have forgiven her recently which she had been waiting for six long years and finally she was going back home to meet her parents and siblings. She felt fortunate for a while for she didn’t have to board a taxi- which she thought earlier she should.
Nima told her why he came all the way to Mongar in the midst of their conversation as they passed Kurizampara the day before. “I didn’t come to pick you up though”, Nima teased her with his grinning face. Neten was silent for a while hearing about someone who was actually meant to be closest to her heart. “She got a beautiful name, she is really lucky having got you”, Neten tried to be normal but her tone spoke everything. She was not a heartless bitch he thought a long ago, she still feel for the baby in her mind. Nima showed Lhajin’s photo after knowing she might like it, there was a temporary smile on her face seeing someone like her staring back at her. ‘She is not mine anymore, don’t fall in love with her’, she consoled her bouncing heart at that time.
“Sorry to ask you but I need to….”, Nima began but Neten interrupted him in haste, “I am prepared for that but let me tell you about it when we reach Thimphu, not now”. Nima was dumbfounded for a while thinking about how sensitive Neten was. “It’s about…”, interrupted again, “Yeah!!! I know. It’s about her father but not now”. At least Nima was convinced that she got what he wanted. They had crossed Mangdi Chhu leaving behind the beautiful Wangdue, readying to face a bit of cold weather of Dochula pass.
Nima assured Seldon via call that he had got it and would soon send it via mail in sister karma’s email account. Neten was offered to spend the night in his alter room which was as beautiful as her own room back in Kidheykhar Nunnery centre. Relieved, Nima sighed heavily as he got into his bed, sitting and watching through the window towards the starry night. He remembered Lhajin and he missed her a lot despite hearing her constantly via phone call. It was a peaceful night for Neten as well. She didn’t know whether the God had forgiven her, moreover, she thought that it may not be in this lifetime. As long as there happiness sings for Lhajin, she felt fine. Head on her pillow, she thought about Tenzin who betrayed him a long ago. ‘I am nun now because of him’, Neten smiled and that night, she had forgiven Tenzin, the man in black go she still remember and the father of a fatherless child.
“I don’t know about his whereabouts now but Peljore Construction based in Hongkong market is still there as far as I know”, Neten told Nima during their breakfast. “They will have his record, he is Tenzin Wangdra from Tashiyangtse and a Civil Engineer those days. I hope you can get it now. What Nima expected was to get whole of the details from Neten but he got another work to do but that name sounds familiar to him somehow…
