Day started with an alarm clock! 5:30am
Well, I am going to take you through a day of my quarantine life(12.09.2020) back in Sri Lanka.
Well! We had a safe arrival back to Sri Lanka from Bhutan after 5 long months in our home country Bhutan. Directly from the airport, after series of strict screening procedure to rule out covid 19, we were transferred to Pittipana quarantine centre.
Don’t have much to tell you guys what happened on the way. It’s a boring sleeping journey in a AC bus. Thanks to the government of Sri Lanka for a wonderful support starting from the beginning and it’s still yet to go. However, I assume everything is going to be safe and full of joy.
My usual routine in quarantine.
Wake up early in the morning at around 5:00 and stay online until it’s 6 o’clock. I usually good through facebook feeds and if I have something to write in my facebook page, I do it during that one hour time. Other times, I use instagram and wechat. You also got to know that I stay a few minutes in tweeter, whatsapp and YouTube.
Then at 6:10 I go to washroom to prepare myself for a fresh day ahead.
Forgot to tell you guys. We are in a would-be future hostel for college students. So no doubt that we are living in hostel rooms.
Room arrangements are so amazing. They are huge and clean, well ventilated I must say. Wait I will take you through them slowly, guys.

Wanna know about the room, well, you can have one friend with you so there are two beds each room with mosquito nets each. A huge cupboard, tables and chairs, a cloth hanger. Well, the room also have balcony so that you can go and get some fresh air.
Unlike hotel quarantine, as expected, there is no separate washroom and toilet for each room. Everyone uses the same washroom which has enough toilets, sinks and shower room. Out of four storeys in the building, Bhutanese men are kept in third floor, female in fourth floor and the Sri Lankan in the second and first floor.
The government quarantine is more than expected. The facility is more than enough. We can’t be too selfish and complain when everything is free of cost.

At around 6:30, I start my first study session of the day. Since I am gonna have exam which I have missed while in lockdown back in Bhutan, I make sure to study some notes in a day. It goes on till its time for breakfast at 7:30am. It’s sleepy and sometimes I fail studying at this hour but it’s in the routine.

At 7:30 am, it’s beakfast time. The people on duty wearing PPE would come and keep our breakfast on the common table outside the room. Out we go! And get our food. Sri Lanka has been back to normal situation for several months now and precautions are less considered unlike Bhutan where standard precautions are strictly followed these days. So we are free to walk, talk and visit one another without restrictions.

We enjoy breakfast like the high school students. Sitting on floor in a round circle, we enjoy the first meal of the day together. It’s a lot of fun. The meals usually consist of kiri bath(milk rice), bread, rice and curry, noodles, pasta, yogurts and some fruits. We get fish, chicken, mutton, egg and other vegetables as curry in different meals. So we can somehow know what they are gonna give us.

No social distancing anymore. [laugh] We enjoy like nothing has happened in the world.
Until it’s eight o’clock, I am free to do anything. Don’t have specific schedule as such. Free man completely. Haha.
From 8:00 o’clock to 10:00 o’clock, I do my second study session of the day. I can’t study anything new these days. No focus on clinical appointments. Exam tension always. So focusing on exam modules makes me feel better even if it’s not effective as it should be. For two hours, I flips the pages one after another. In between I take a nap too. That’s cool.

There is time time after breakfast and before lunch. It’s milk tea with some biscuits. I am not really into tea so I don’t go to get it but it’s fun sharing to you all about this too.
From 10:30 a.m. it’s the most interesting part of the day! I start my exercise and it goes on until it’s 11:30 a.m. I use an app called home workouts and everything is there for you. You just have to choose what exercises you wanna do. So, today I am gonna do chest and abs exercises and some shoulder exercises. Since I missed many days back in Bhutan, it’s really difficult getting back to exercise after few months long. Still then I tried and it’s my fifth day of exercise. I love it as much as I have missed it.

After 30 minutes of rest plus washing, it’s time for lunch. The timing differs day to day but that’s acceptable because it happens. Lunch time gathering is fun again. They give us different meals each time but I like when they give us rice and curry.
The next few hours until 2:30pm, I choose to practice singing, watching movies and other leisure activities. At 2:30 pm, I start my third study session.

Let me not forget to tell you guys what others are doing at the moment. We all have different timing for different activities. So, let’s see what they do as well.
It’s already 2:30 and I am gonna start my third study session of the day. Whether I like it or not, this study session is going to be longer than the first two. It will continue till 5:00pm. But in between, as a break, I clean my room. Since the washroom becomes dirty sooner because of huge number of users, I also go and clean the common washroom which takes about 10 minutes of my time. It refreshes my sleepy mind. Then I continue my study to end at 5:00pm.

Within this hour, another tea is served. Many of my friends enjoy the tea. From 5 to 6pm, I sleep as it is in the routine. Sleeping is always fun. I am either completely deep into sleep or just being on the bed doing some social media things.
From 6pm to 7pm, it’s another time for a great fun. Exercise! But this time it’s outside the room with friends. We play Chungki juggling match and it’s so much of fun.

At 7:30 it’s dinner time. As mentioned above, it’s just the same. I tried to skip dinner but by the time when it comes, I can’t do anything but to sit with friends and enjoy it. Eating is one thing I can’t skip no matter how much I try. That’s why my tummy is growing big inspite of doing exercises.
As it is in my routine, by 8:00pm, I start last session of my study. I can go up-to minimum of 9:00pm and maximum of 11:00pm. I close my day by going to the bed at 11:30pm. That’s how me and my friends spend our time in quarantine. I hope you guys have enjoyed it.
